About this piece
The Kingsmann, in detail
The Kingsmann is the dressier of our two bifolds, the wallet for a man who carries a few cards and some cash and wants the piece in his pocket to look the part. This is the coffee version; the leather is the same as the rest of the range, and the colour is only the starting point, because crazy horse leather darkens and marks with use until the wallet is unmistakably yours.
How it is made
Cut from 100% full grain cow leather with a crazy horse finish and skived by hand at the fold, which means the leather is thinned where it bends so the wallet lies flat in a pocket instead of springing open. The card slots are lined in calf, not fabric, so they stretch to the cards you keep in them and then stop. Every seam is a saddle stitch in waxed linen thread: two needles through each hole, which cannot unravel the way a machine lock stitch does when one thread wears through.
What goes in it
Card slots on both faces for a CNIC, bank cards and a licence, with a full width note section along the back. It is sized for six to eight cards and a day's cash; load it with more and it will thicken, which is true of any bifold. If you carry a dozen cards, the Majestic trifold is the better shape. If you carry four, look at the Maverick or Purefold. The differences are explained in bifold vs trifold vs minimalist.
What it does with wear
The coffee surface lightens at the corners and the fold where a pocket rubs it, and darkens where your fingers hold it. Scratches show pale in the wax and rub out with a thumb. Give it a dry wipe once a month and a little leather balm twice a year and it will be in your pocket for a decade.

How it is made
Crazy horse leather, stitched by hand
Every piece is cut from full hides by local artisans. The waxed surface marks and darkens with use, so no two pieces age the same way.
- 01The material
We buy whole hides and reject about a third. What is left is graded by hand for grain, thickness and stretch.
- 02The cutting
Straps are cut along the spine where the hide is tightest, so a belt holds its shape instead of curling.
- 03The stitching
One row of saddle stitch, two needles, waxed linen thread. It cannot unravel the way a machine seam can.
- 04The finish
Edges bevelled, sanded, burnished four times, sealed with beeswax. Then the buckle goes on and it is checked.
