Outlaw Crazy Horse Leather Belt, from the shoot

About this piece

The Outlaw, in detail

The Outlaw is the rugged one. A thick brown strap of crazy horse leather with a solid brass buckle, made for jeans, chinos and shalwar kameez rather than a suit. It is the belt that shows its patina fastest, because the brass darkens alongside the leather, and it is the one men who wear a belt every day tend to choose.

How it is made

Cut in one piece from 100% full grain cow leather with a crazy horse finish, 3.5 mm thick, along the spine of the hide. There is no glued filler and no split layer: the leather on the face runs the full thickness to the back, which is what keeps the strap flat and stops it stretching at the holes. Edges are bevelled, sanded and burnished, then sealed with beeswax. The brass buckle sits on a removable screw post.

What it does with wear

The waxed surface scuffs lighter where it rubs against a pocket or a car seat and darkens where it is handled, so the Outlaw develops a lighter band along the edges and a deep, glossy patch at the buckle end within a few months. Brass dulls to a warm bronze. Scratches in the wax rub out with a thumb; the marks that stay are the character of the leather.

Size and fit

Sizes 30 to 44 in even numbers. Measure a belt you already wear from the buckle bar to the hole you use and round to the nearest even number, or add two to your trouser size. The middle hole should fit on the day it arrives. See how to measure belt size.

Delivery and returns

Rs 299 delivery anywhere in Pakistan in 3 to 5 working days, cash on delivery. Unused belts can be returned within 7 days. A handwritten note goes in the box if you add one at checkout.

How it is made

Crazy horse leather, stitched by hand

Every piece is cut from full hides by local artisans. The waxed surface marks and darkens with use, so no two pieces age the same way.

The workshop
  1. 01The material

We buy whole hides and reject about a third. What is left is graded by hand for grain, thickness and stretch.

  2. 02The cutting

Straps are cut along the spine where the hide is tightest, so a belt holds its shape instead of curling.

  3. 03The stitching

One row of saddle stitch, two needles, waxed linen thread. It cannot unravel the way a machine seam can.

  4. 04The finish

Edges bevelled, sanded, burnished four times, sealed with beeswax. Then the buckle goes on and it is checked.
